A Roving Band Of Baptists Didn’t Kill Anyone In London Over The Weekend

Like many of you, I was enjoying my weekend when the news of the London stabbings came across my phone and consciousness. Again? I thought.  So soon after the Manchester attacks? But the timing isn’t what makes the deaths horrific.  Many of you remember the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, which killed six people and injured over a thousand.  And you’ll never forget watching the attacks on the World Trade Center occur on live television on September 11th.  Spacing them out doesn’t make them more acceptable.

After September 11th, George W. Bush bent over backwards to assure us that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Islam. “The face of terrorism not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace,” he told a devastated nation.  “These terrorists don’t represent peace, they represent evil and war . . . When we think of Islam, we think of a faith that brings comfort to a billion people around the world . . .and that’s made brothers and sisters out of every race.”

Okay, so now let’s just stop pretending. I’m not going to try to tell you what “true Islam” is, because I’m not a Muslim. I really wish our elected officials would just stop trying to be “Theologians-in Chief.” If all the death in the UK in the last few months isn’t enough to convince us that Islam has a “killing us” problem, what is?

“Tolerance” becomes stupidity when it is leading to the death of innocents.   For too long, the PC left has indoctrinated our population in the Western world with the idea that all religions are equal.  For too long, the left has referred to Islam generally as “a religion of peace.” Yet during Ramadan alone, Islamic terrorism has accounted for approximately 150 deaths.   No other religion is connected to terrorist murder on a mass scale. As Matt Walsh tweeted, “Funny how Christians manage to celebrate their holy days and holy seasons without murdering anyone!”

President Trump seems to understand this.   The majority of the American people seem to understand this in a very common sense way. This is neither bigotry, nor racism, nor Islamophobia, as it is so often called. This is rational, common sense, self-preservation.

Immediately after the attacks, actress Bette Midler tweeted, “More sorrow and grief at the hands of madmen in London. Men and religion are worthless.”  But wait just a second… what religion is “worthless?”  Was this a roving band of Baptists who attacked innocent?  A gaggle of Jews?  The terrorizing Presbyterians?  No.  Have the courage – the ounce of integrity – to be specific.

How many instances do we need to come to the obvious conclusion that they hate us and are trying to rid the planet of us?  Do we need another couple thousand years of murder?  And we Americans can’t get too comfortable.  As David French wrote in September, this is happening in our nation, too. “A series of Muslim immigrants and ‘visitors’ are responsible for killing more Americans on American soil than the combined militaries of Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany,” he wrote.

It is time for the PC crowd to stop trying to impose a one-way suicide pact on the general public. It is time to get serious about fighting radical Islam.  It is time for the western world, if it is to survive, to unite against this cancer.   But first, our political leaders, Hollywood, and the media need to stop acting as if they’re a part of Islam’s marketing plan.
