Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin recently received a racist message in the mail, and it’s an ugly reminder of the dark side of sports.

Sumlin’s wife Charlene shared the message on Twitter late Thursday night. The message reads, “You suck as a coach! You’re a n*gger and can’t win. Please get lost! Or else.”

Sometimes people seem to forget football and all other sports are a just a game. They’re not worth dying over, getting into fights over, and they’re certainly not worth sending racist letters to coaches over.

I doubt the police will ever find out who’s responsible, but I sure hope they do. They should arrest this fan, and make an example out of them for the ages. There is never a reason to ever send a letter of this nature, especially over a football game. Absolutely disgraceful.
