Leigh Corfman, who says Roy Moore groped her when she was 14 years old, described the alleged encounter in an interview with “The Today Show.”
Corfman remembers meeting up with Moore, who was 32 at the time, and going to his home on two occasions. The second occasion was when the alleged molestation occurred.
“He basically laid out some blankets on the floor of his living room and proceeded to seduce me, I guess you would say,” Corfman told Savannah Guthrie. “And during the course of that, he removed my clothing, he left the room and came back in wearing his white underwear, and he touched me over my clothing–what was left of it.”
“And he tried to get me to touch him as well,” she claimed. “And at that point I pulled back and said that I was not comfortable and I got dressed and he took me home.”
“But I was a 14 year old child trying to play in an adult’s world,” Corfman asserted. “And he was 32 years old.”
Corfman said she told several friends about the encounter, and they told her that it was a bad idea to be hanging out with older men. Moore allegedly reached out to Corfman again, and she made an excuse so that she wouldn’t have to see him.
“It took away a lot of the specialness of interactions with men. It took some trust away. It allowed me to delve into some things that I wouldn’t have otherwise,” she said. “It took years for me to regain a sense of confidence in myself.”
