Disney will remove the 22-minute long “Frozen” short that was supposed to play ahead of Pixar’s “Coco” next week, but it’s not because of audience criticism as some have reported.

On Sunday, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the holiday-themed short titled “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” was always planned and scheduled to be a limited run in theaters and was only supposed to last until December 8th. (RELATED: ‘Frozen’ Voice Actress: Giving Elsa A Girlfriend Is A Great Idea)

“This was always promoted as a limited run so it’s not really a story–the end of our Olaf theatrical play is coming next week,” a Disney rep confirmed to the outlet. “All our ads and messaging called it as such.”

According to a Mashable report Saturday, the snowy adventure involving the popular talking snowman searching was being cut from theaters starting December 8 after numerous complaints about how movie goers were having to keep young children still for 40 minutes before the listed start time for the movie that centers around Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

The report stated that Disney had “directed theaters … to remove the deeply unpopular 22-minute ‘Frozen’ short that plays in front of each screening.”
