Alvaro Vargas Llosa is a senior fellow at the Center on Global Prosperity at the Independent Institute, and an internationally renowned policy expert, speaker, and media personality. He is author of the new book, Global Crossings: Immigration, Civilization and America. Alvaro Vargas Llosa was appointed Young Global Leader 2007 by the World Economic Forum in Davos. He has been an op-ed page editor and columnist at the Miami Herald, and a contributor to the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Alvaro Vargas Llosa is a native of Peru and received his B.S.C. in international history and an M.A. from the London School of Economics. He resides in Washington, DC.
